Volunteer at MADACC
Thank you for your interest in volunteering at MADACC! Due to the holiday season, we will not be processing new volunteer
applications or contacting our new volunteer applicants until the week of January 6, 2014. We are looking forward to adding
on new volunteers and strengthening our existing volunteer force in 2014. Please be patient while we catch up and know that
your interest means so much to us, and even more to our animals. Thank you for wanting to give a better life to the animals
in Milwaukee County that need you the most! We wish you a wonderful holiday season and best wishes for a furry and prosperous new year!
Volunteering at your local animal
shelter is a meaningful way to make a difference in
the lives of homeless animals in your community. MADACC offers a wide variety of volunteer positions to
help improve the lives of the over 11,000 animals per year that enter the shelter.
MADACC asks that volunteers commit to a volunteer position and schedule for 6 months or more. This
commitment is necessary because it takes time and resources to properly train volunteers. In addition, the animals
in the shelter need you and depend on you!
Steps to becoming a MADACC volunteer:
- Complete the ONLINE VOLUNTEER APPLICATION FORM.
Volunteers must be 18 years of age or older!
- Attend a volunteer orientation session. Once your application has been accepted into our database, you will be invited
to a scheduled New Volunteer Orientation.
- Complete Tier 1 duties - laundry, dishes, and general cleaning - to become familiar with shelter operations.
- Based on the needs of MADACC and your availability, train for a specific volunteer position. See below for potential volunteer opportunities.

MADACC also has a limited adoption program that focuses on the two neediest populations in the shelter -
kittens, cats and Pit Bull type dogs. MADACC utilizes volunteer foster homes around Milwaukee County while these animals
await adoption to loving, forever homes. If you are interested in fostering for MADACC, please complete the
FOSTER CARE APPLICATION.
