| MADACC handles
an estimated 13,400 animals annually from all 19
municipalities that form Milwaukee County.
Applications are currently being accepted for the
position of Kennel Attendant to establish a
candidate eligibility pool to fill future openings
in the position.
MAJOR DUTIES AND
RESPONSIBILITIES
Kennel Attendants are
responsible for the daily cleaning and general
animal care of animal kennels and kenneling areas;
assisting with euthanasia; provide courteous
customer service, while at the same time abiding
by strict guidelines of kennel awareness, when
escorting the public through the shelter;
releasing animals to owners; responding to
calls/pages over two-way radios or loud speaker
systems; stocking a variety of animal supplies;
cleaning and sanitizing all food bowls, water
bowls, litter pans, and laundry on a daily basis;
assist with the unloading of various trucks and
supplies; flushing and scrubbing out kennel drain
basins; some janitorial duties.
MAJOR QUALIFICATIONS &
ABILITIES
Candidates for the position of
Kennel Attendant must meet the following minimum
requirements; possess high school diploma or
equivalent; maintain a professional demeanor at
all times during the scheduled workday; be able to
lift a minimum of 50 pounds; handle routine
euthanasia; have a strong initiative with
excellent organizational skills; must be able to
multitask; a thorough understanding and dedication
of the philosophies of animal welfare; ability to
work a varied schedule including evenings,
weekends, holidays, and overtime.
SALARY AND BENEFITS
Benefits include vacation and
sick leave earned on an accrued basis and paid
holidays. Applicants must live in Milwaukee
County.
