The facility is closed on all legal holidays.
MADACC generally will not accept unwanted
surrendered animals except in cases where the
owner is requesting euthanasia. There are
five (5) area humane societies in or around
Milwaukee County which do accept surrendered
animals for adoption. Please check your
local telephone directory for contact information
or you may contact MADACC for referral service.
There is a Service Fee of $75.00 for any owned
animal surrendered to MADACC.
Domestic stray animals may be turned in at the
shelter during normal business hours. If it
is not possible to bring the animal to the
shelter, an Animal Control Officer will be
dispatched during normal business hours for a
stray pickup. For MADACC personnel to be
able to enter private property and respond to your
request for service, an adult must be present and
cats must be confined. Service calls are
routed by area and nature of emergency status;
therefore, it is not possible to give a precise
time as to when the Animal Control Officer will
respond to a field service request. MADACC
personnel do not service wildlife calls. A

DOG AND CAT REDEMPTION
State Statute as well as Milwaukee County and
Municipal Ordinance require that dogs and cats 5
months of age and older must be up-to-date on
rabies inoculations and licensing prior to leaving
MADACC. If your dog or cat has not been
vaccinated against rabies or the vaccination has
expired, you must purchase a rabies vaccination at
MADACC for $15.00 or go to your veterinarian, pay
for the rabies vaccination in advance and bring
the "Prepayment Receipt" with you
at the time you claim your pet.

This fee can vary from $8.00 to $40.00 depending
on the municipality of residence.
MADACC provides stray and owned biter animal
quarantine services for the municipalities of
Milwaukee County. Unwanted bite case animals
held for rabies quarantine observation are subject
to a $75.00 service fee. If the owner wants
the animal back at the end of the quarantine
period, the normal boarding fees of $15.00 per day
per animal are charged as well as a $25.00
MADACC provides euthanasia services for unwanted
owned animals brought to the shelter and
signed over by the owner for euthanasia request.
There is a $75.00 fee per animal for this
euthanasia/cremation service. For an
